CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Ohio volleyball team wrapped up its spring schedule Saturday afternoon with a 3-1 performance at the University of Cincinnati spring volleyball tournament.

Ohio swept Youngstown State (2-0) and Wright State (2-0) to begin the day, before falling to Maryland (0-2). The Bobcats bounced back in their final match of the day, sweeping Xavier (2-0) to post three wins on the day.

"Today we played significantly better than we have all spring," said Ohio Head Coach Ryan Theis. "Three out of the four matches we played we showed great improvement in our serving, attacking, blocking and passing."

Theis has been with the team for just over five weeks now, but in his short time at the helm he is already impressed with the team's ability to learn on the fly.

"I think the team has done a tremendous job at grasping the concepts that we would like to play with next year," explained Theis. "We were able to get better in areas we needed to. One of those areas we have really been working on is blocking and today we showed a definite improvement in our blocking."
