ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio softball team will head to Dayton Wednesday for back-to-back games against Wright State at 2 and 4 p.m. Live stats are available via OhioBobcats.com.

Series Information
Wednesday's doubleheader will be the 31st and 32nd meeting between the two teams. Ohio leads the all-time series with a 20-10 record. The teams last met on April 25, 2007. Ohio took two wins in a doubleheader, 8-0 and 1-0, in Athens.

A Look at the `Cats
Ohio enters the series with a 9-8 overall record. The Bobcats are coming off a 3-1 stint at the Cavalier Classic last weekend, where they posted wins over Georgetown, Rutgers and Virginia. The `Cats lost their only game to Radford. Freshman Emily Wethington hit the first home run of her career, while seniors Amanda Sacks and Courtney Waters, and freshman Melissa Bonner scored four runs apiece.

Wethington and pitcher Michelle Sauter both picked up wins in the circle during the tourney. Wethington finished the weekend 2-0 and struck out 16 batters. Sauter finished with a 1-1 record, and totaled seven strikeouts.

Three Bobcats are batting .300 or better with senior Maureen McKelvey (.408) leading the way. Waters (.309) and Bonner (.302) round out the group. Waters leads the team with 15 runs scored this season, including a career-high four against Fairfield.
 

 

The Bobcats have the second best team batting average (.277) in the MAC and the second best team ERA (1.83), while having the best team fielding percentage (.971).
