ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio lacrosse team recently completed a community service project, volunteering at the Athens Community Center's Halloween event.

The team spent three hours at the facility, helping entertain the children in attendance. Each student-athlete worked a different station, including mini-golf and a bean bag throw. Players also handed out candy and and with the kids. The team also participated in a limbo contest.

"This was a fun event, both for the kids and our players," Head Coach Allison Valentino said. "Our student-athletes realize the importance of being active in the Athens community, and they always take a great deal from these experiences."

Ohio begins its 2007 season on Feb. 16 with a road contest against Lehigh. The Bobcats home opener is on March 4 against two-time defending national champion Northwestern.
