Day 1 Results

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.-The Ohio women's golf team stands eighth after the first day of competition at the MAC Championship in Indianapolis, Indiana.

 

The Bobcats fired a two-round total of 661 (+85) at the par 72 Brickyard Crossing course. Kent State (+18, 594) currently leads the tournament by 31 shots.

 

Freshman Erin Cahill (Hilliard, Ohio) led Ohio with a two-round total of 159 (81-78), while sophomore Colleen Lienesch (Centerville, Ohio) shot a 164 (80-84) and senior Katie Stafford (Phoenix, Az.) finished one shot behind her. Lauren and Lindsay Bergman, both of Blacklick, Ohio, tallied scores of 173 (83-90) and 174 (84-90), respectively.


 

 

 

Kent State's Kirby Dreher (+4, 148), Kira Meixner (+4, 148), Tara Delaney (+5, 149) and Maddi Swaney (+5) occupy the tournament's top four spots in the individual standings.

 

The tournament will continue Saturday.
