Lindsey Wraps Up NCAA Tournament
 

 
 
 

 
Germane Lindsey finished with a 1-2 record at the NCAA National Tournament.

ST. LOUIS - Mo. - Germane Lindsey was eliminated from the NCAA National Tournament on Friday afternoon after Cornell's Adam Frey pinned Lindsey in :22 in the first period of the consolation bracket bout.

Lindsey wrapped up his nationals run with a 1-2 record at the tournament in St. Louis.

The freshman from Cincinnati, Ohio opened up the NCAA National Tournament with a bout against Boise State's Levi Jones.

Jones began the match with a takedown in the first period, earning two points. With the match a 2-0, Jones started the second period on the ground and quick tallied an escape point. With both wrestlers up, Jones scored another takedown late in the second period to build his lead to 5-0. Lindsey escaped from Jones takedown to earn his first point and the score was 5-1 heading into the final period. In the third period Lindsey escaped after starting on the bottom, making the score 5-2. But Jones was able to tack on another takedown and earned riding time at the end of the bout to make the score 8-2 and win the match.

Lindsey's second match of the tournament was against Penn's Richard Rappo in the consolation bracket.

Lindsey began the bout with a takedown, scoring first. Rappo was able to escape the takedown but was again dropped to the mat to make the score 4-1 in favor of Lindsey in the first period. As the clock was ticking away in the opening period of the bout, Rappo tallied another escape to make the score 4-2 heading into the second period. Rappo scored first in the second period on a reversal, pushing the score even at 4-4 but Lindsey quickly secured a reversal of his own to take back the lead, 6-4. Rappo escaped from Lindsey's reversal and following another Lindsey takedown, Rappo escaped again to make the score 8-6 heading into the final period. Neither wrestler could score in the third period and Lindsey won the bout 8-6.

In Lindsey's third match of the tournament he went against Frey. Frey began the bout with a quick takedown and worked Lindsey over to his back for the pin in the first period.
 

 

Lindsey finishes the season with a 20-17 mark and the most wins for the Bobcats this season.
