KENT, Ohio - - Ohio's Germane Lindsey took third place in the 141 pound weight class and earned an at-large bid to the NCAA National Tournament in St. Louis, Mo.

Lindsey (Cincinnati, Ohio) defeated Central Michigan's Eric Kruger to enter the final three but lost to Kent State's Drew Lashaway in the runner-up finals of the consolation bracket. The freshman finished the season a Bobcat-best 19-5 record.

Lindsey will be the Bobcats lone representative at the Nationals, as Kevin Christensen (Springfield, Ohio), who took second place at 149 pounds, was not given an at-large bid.

Christensen lost to Central Michigan's Brandon Carter in the championship bout but rebounded by defeating Northern Illinois' Kalen Knull for the second time at the MAC Championships. Christensen finished with an 11-16 record on the season. No wrestlers from the 149 pound weight class received an at-large bid.

Other Bobcats still competing on day two of the MAC Tournament were Quentin Keyes (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio) at 141 pounds, Jacob Ison (Batavia, Ohio) at 174 pounds and Chris Iammarino (Lyndhurst, Ohio) at 197 pounds.

Ison defeated Chris Estep of Kent State on a 7-0 decision to move into the consolation bracket championship were he was beaten by NIU's Duke Burk 3-2 in the runner-up bout. Burk was awarded an at-large bid after finishing second.

Keyes squared-off with Conor Beebe of CMU in the third round of the consolation bracket but lost the bout 10-2 as Beebe advanced to the consolation finals and lost to KSU's Dan Mitcheff.

Iammarino was in a similar position as Keyes as he lost to Buffalo's Jimmy Hamel in the third round of the consolation bracket and the final bout before the consolation championship.

Lindsey will follow Jake Frerichs to the NCAA National Tournament. Frerichs was the runner-up last season in the 157 pound weight class of the MAC Tournament. Frerichs lost back-to-back bouts at nationals last season.

The NCAA National Tournament will be held in St. Louis, Mo. and will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 20 and will end with championship bouts at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 22.
