Final Results

LEXINGTON, Ky.-The Ohio men's golf team finished 15th at the Bluegrass Invitational Monday afternoon.

 

The Bobcats tallied a 315 and a 309 in the final two rounds of action to finish with a three-round total of 953 (+101) on the par-71, 7,013-yard Big Blue Golf Club course.

 

Central Florida won the overall team championship with a 47-over total of 899. Among MAC schools, Miami finished at 920 (+68), Toledo was eighth at 923 (+71), Akron was 10th at 935 (+83) and Ball State was 11th at 939 (+87).


 

 

 

Ohio was led by sophomore Chad Warmbein (McMurray, Pa.) who tied for sixth overall with a 12-over total of 225. Warmbein's second round score of 69 tied Missouri's Tyler Hillis for the lowest round of the tournament. Junior James Ellis (McMurray, Pa.) finished at 242 (+29), and sophomore Tim Gusweiler (Loveland, Ohio) carded a 244 (+31). Senior Mark Phillips (Hilliard, Ohio) came in two shots behind him, while sophomore Stewart Jamieson (Worthington, Ohio) finished in a tie for 81st at 248 to round out the team.

 

Brent Long of Western Kentucky and Brian Belden of Kentucky finished in a tie for first at 219 (+6).

 

Ohio will be back in action Saturday and Sunday at the Rutherford Intercollegiate at the Penn State Blue Course.
