Game Setup:

-          The game between Ohio and George Mason was the 500th game played in the Convocation Center.


 

 

-          Ohio was 380-119 (.762) all-time at home at The Convo before the game.

-          Ohio's Leon Williams (9.9) and George Mason's Will Thomas (10.6) both entered the game leading their respective conferences (MAC and CAA) in rebounding average per game.

 

First Half:

-          George Mason won the tip.

-          George Mason scored first with 17:57 on the clock.

-          The Patriots opened the game on a 10-2 run.

-          Ohio responded with a 9-2 run to make it 12-11 with 12:22 remaining.

-          With the score at 17-11, Ohio went on a scoreless streak of 7:13. George Mason took advantage, pushing its lead to 28-11 and scoring 16 unanswered points.

-          Michael Allen's tip-in at 4:43 ended the drought.

-          Ohio closed out the half on a 7-4 run.

 

At the Half:  George Mason 32, Ohio 19

-          Leon Williams led the Bobcats at the half with six points while GMU was paced by Folarin Campbell's eight points.

-          Ohio shot just 27% from the floor, George Mason connected on 12-19 attempts (63%).

-          Leon Williams, Justin Orr and Allen Hester were all whistled for two fouls in the first half. GMU's Vlad Moldoveanu picked up two quick fouls in two minutes of play in the opening period but was the only Patriot to get called more than once.

-          Ohio, down by 13 to George Mason, fell behind Ball State by 12 at halftime but pulled out a win, 61-59, by outscoring the Cardinals 38-24 in the second half.

-          The Bobcats were outscored 46-20 at Kansas, their largest halftime deficit this season.

-          Ohio averaged 30.8 points per game in the first half before the George Mason contest, shooting 43%.

 

Second Half:

-          The Bobcats scored first in the second half on a Leon Williams jumper with 18:24 left on the clock.

-          Ohio opened the half on an 8-0 run before Folarin Campbell made one of two free throws to give George Mason its first point of the half.

-          Folarin Campbell hit another pair of free throws at 13:59 to give the Patriots just their second and third points of the half. Ohio put together a 12-3 run in that span.

-          Ohio took its first lead of the game at 10:45 with a Bert Whittington IV fastbreak lay-up that made the score 41-40.

-          From 5:47 remaining on the clock, Ohio went on an 11-3 run fueled by five points from Bubba Walther and three each from Bert Whittington IV and Jerome Tillman. As a result, Ohio took a seven-point lead with 2:31 left to play.

-          At 2:26, Leon Williams, with a defender in his face, hit a fadeaway 3-pointer - the first make and attempt from downtown in the senior's career.

-          Louis Birdsong's tip-in at 2:03 snapped a two and half minute scoreless streak and ended Ohio's nine-point run.

-          Ohio iced the come-from-behind victory by making seven of its last eight free throw attempts inside the final 1:30 to play.
