Game Notes vs. Western Michigan

Saturday, February 9, 2008

Convocation Center - Athens, Ohio

--The Bobcats have won their last 10 home games dating back to last season.

--Ohio knocked down all 14 of its free throws in the win over Western Michigan. It marked the first time under head coach Tim O'Shea that the squad had not missed a shot from the charity stripe.

--Ohio has registered more blocked shots in four consecutive games for the first time since the 2002-03 season (Feb. 26-Mar. 8).

--Williams is in sole possession of eighth in Ohio's scoring records with 1,555 points. Walter Luckett (1972-75) is seventh with 1,625. He is also within 50 rebounds (1,000) of tying Gary Trent for second in that category as well.

--The Bobcats have held nine of their last 11 opponents under 60 points.

--Western Michigan's four 3-pointers tied a season-low for an Ohio opponent.

--Ohio's nine assists tied a season-low, but it also only allowed five to Western Michigan, which was the lowest for a Bobcat opponent since Central Michigan also notched five in a 76-44 Ohio win on Jan. 14, 2006 in the Convo.

--Ohio's 16 field goals were a season-low.

--Ohio was outrebounded (33-35) for the second consecutive game this season in the win over Western Michigan. The last time the Bobcats were outboarded in three consecutive games was Dec. 17-30, 2005 when they lost the edge to Shippensburg (30-32, 73-57 W), Detroit (26-32, 56-55 W) and Kentucky (30-35, 63-71 L).
