OMAHA, Neb. - Ohio freshman Jason Moulton has been awarded with the Great Lakes Region pitching performance of the week by InsidePitching.com and Mid-American Conference East Division Pitcher of the Week, after his stellar showing on the mound this past week.

Against Purdue, the right hander had a no-hitter going through the first 6.2 innings and gave up just three hits in the first complete-game shutout of his career. The Toledo, Ohio, native finished the game with five strikeouts and no walks, in leading Ohio (6-8) to a 3-0 victory.

On the season, Moulton is 1-1 with a 4.30 ERA in 23.0 innings of work. He is holding opposing batters to a .233 batting average.

Each week, InsidePitching.com awards the performances and accomplishments of five pitchers around the country. After being nominated as one of the three best pitching performances for the week, a panel of 30 NCAA Division I coaches around the nation are pooled for voting.

Missouri right hander Aaron Crow won the honor in the Midwest Region after striking out 15 batters in a complete-game shutout against Toledo. San Diego freshman Kyle Blair won West Region honors after setting a new school record with 16 strikeouts against Hawaii. The Southeast Region award went to Mississippi State sophomore, Ricky Bowen, who struck out 11 in a complete-game shutout over Ole Miss. George Washington freshman Eric Cantrell picked up the Northeast Region win after giving up just four hits and one earned run in his second win of the season.

Moulton becomes the second Ohio pitcher to capture the conference's weekly honor this season, joining junior Chris Rigo (Feb. 26).
