ATHENS, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference released its women's indoor track all-academic team and two Bobcats were selected.

Senior Carime Reinhart (Boscom, Ohio) and junior Jessie Tanner (Newark, Ohio) were named to the MAC All-Academic Team after each Bobcat maintained their cumulative GPAs above the 3.20 qualifying mark.

Reinhart posted a 4.0 GPA last quarter, improving her cumulative to 3.98. Tanner maintained her perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA with another perfect 4.0 last quarter.

Reinhart, who is currently enrolled in the college of heath and human sciences, placed in two events at the MAC Indoor Championships on March 1 at Eastern Michigan. She took sixth in the 3,000 meters and with a time of 17:26.66, placed third in the 5,000 meters. On the season, Reinhart has posted the fastest Ohio time in the 5,000 meters and the second quickest times in the 3,000 meters and one mile run.

She has compiled eight top-10 finishes this season including a first place finish in the 3,000 meters on Jan. 18 at the Kent State double-dual meet.

Reinhart was also named to the Women's Indoor Track and Field MAC All-Academic Team last season. Only three others amongst the 22 selected this year have been chosen for the second consecutive season.

Tanner, who is currently working toward a degree in business administration, set a new Ohio record this season and then proceeded to break her own record just weeks later.

She posted a Bobcat all-time best toss of 55-07.50 in the 20-lb. weight throw at the Akron Open and then eclipsed her own mark with a toss of 55-09.25 at the All-Ohio Championships.

Tanner has earned 15 top-10 finishes this season including first place showings at the Capital Invitational on Jan. 25 and the Akron Open on Feb. 1.

The Ohio track and field team will begin competition in the outdoor season on March 29, when they travel to Oxford, Ohio to place in the Southern Cup, hosted by Miami. Events begin at 1 p.m.
